‘Shakespeare’s London’ BookBench

Commissioned by: The National Literacy Trust

Project: This ‘Shakespeare’s London’ book-shaped bench was designed to celebrate London’s literary heritage and reading for enjoyment, as part of an art trail of BookBenches across London during summer 2014. This BookBench is a playful map and representation of what London may have looked like during the time of one of the most famous playwrights.

‘Shakespeare’s London’ BookBench was on display outside Shakespeare’s Globe on the Southbank, London until September 2014. It was then sold at an auction at the Southbank Centre on 7th October 2014 to help fundraise for The National Literacy Trust. Find out more at Books About Town
